My current goal is to have my body and mind function as optimally as possible while also being comfortable in a bathing suit when I'm on vacation or simply at the pool. Simple enough right? Well, there are some challenges I do have to work around.
In the last three years I've suffered through Lyme disease, a severe concussion and something that may be a relapse of either the concussion symptoms or may be lingering effects of the Lyme. No one really knows and it isn't really diagnosable. The symptoms are all very similar and could be a combination. This has made every aspect of life somewhat complicated. Energy is limited, patience is short, body is strong but the neurological system is very sensitive which makes programming my workouts a challenge. This all comes down to making things simple so that I can live something close to a "normal" life.
What does simple look like?
I limit the amount of places where I make my purchases. I shop online at one website for all my supplements and household needs, go to Costco for most of my food needs and have one or two other places I go for spices and other specialty foods that I want. I know what I need before I go, I go in and get those items and I go out, this has the extra effect of saving money while keeping me away from buying things that aren't going to keep me on the right path. I have definitely simplified this description ;)
I have started setting reminders to block schedule my day. I have to limit screen time to under 30 minute blocks (which makes writing complicated) in which I do my programming, client follow ups, I wrote a step by step online program that I am now rolling out and I am now starting to write (as you see here).
I am now a slave to my schedule. I just do what it tells me to do. This limits the amount of decisions I need to make on a day to day basis so that I can be fully present with my clients, friends and family.
